Greetings,

Newbie to WDP here smile.gif

Can anyone lend a suggestion on how or if it is possible to change the geo-target on my homepage www.NoMoreAlone.com ,

As you may notice it is defaulted to the UK. My preference for a US based site is to be able to just enter a zip code for anywhere in the US. This is the standard search method for most if not all sites here in the US. wink.gif

I would like to be able to blend in with my competition and present my site with the features that most all folks in the US are used to seeing/using.

Any input would be great!

Olywa

(my apologies for the duel post, I also posted this in another topic but can't remember which one)

I am In Canada so I understand what you mean, we use postal codes. When I went to your site it defaulted to Canada, you need to change that and change the template so you stand out from all the other sites.

HI Patsy,

That is strange, When I visit my site here it defaults to the US, perhaps it is part of the Geo-targeting that is built in. I sent Laura an email concerning the zip code question and still have not heard back. My site has taken 30 new unique visitors 2 sign ups, (1 paid... me...lol) and I have not even began to market it or submit it. Somehow Google picked up on it, maybe because I was doing some keyword searches through them.

About half of my hits have been from here in the US mostly from one area. The thing I think is turning my peoples a away is the lack of the ability to search by zip and see who is "local" to them.

Do you notice this trend where you are at?

I still get a lot of signups and paid members, but I have been around a long time so I am pretty high up there in the search engines. Having zip codes and postal codes would be better, but the geo targeting does allow you to put the country that you want your search to start from. If you do your site right you will be picked up by Google but not because you are doing keyword searches but because you have set up your site right. Never leave the site as a template, people will see the same site with other associates. Customize it as much as you can.
