Hello,

just signed up as partner a hope it proves to be a fruitful endeavour. smile.gif

i'm using a pre-designed template but chose to host it under my own domain name (actually a subdomain)

in the FAQs it says:

"Our program will then create a web page for your new front page which will magically generate the rest of the web site on your new URL when visitors click on all related links"

How do i get my hands on this page?

Cheers!

Paul

Hi Paul.
It will appear as the sub domain name you chose when you registered the site.
You should have received an email to confirm the site.
If not, just log in on http://admin.world-dating-partners.com/ and your sites will all be listed

Hi Chris,

any update on this? I'm imagining it takes the form of a coded page I put in the folder that my sub-domain points to? The reason I'm using the sub-domain is to better tie in the dating site to the town portal I've already setup.
Tim
Hi Paul,

There are a number of ways of dealing with subdomains!

By the sounds of things you have an exsiting site, hosted on another server which you wish to keep active and have a dating site running as a subdomain for that site. I have done this for a number of my own sites.

You will need to change the DNS settings from where your domain is hosted. You will need to create an A record for that subdomain and point it to the IP address of our server: 80.85.90.72

Providing that you have created your new site using your subdomain address this will propogate pretty quickly.

Hope this answers your question.

Pleased to hear you are all sorted now.
Also, in the future please dont quote a post. Unless it's really important!

Did you email Tim all your login details?

tim<at>datech.ltd.uk

Paul8368
You'd be better emailing him smile.gif

Hi Stephen, I'm trying to install it into dating.hounslowtw3.net

cheers.
Stephen (4808)
Hi Paul

The IP address for that domain name is for singlescrowd.

You will need to contact Pavel for help. p.chernyshev(at)singles.ltd.uk

These are the settings for seeting up a subdomain:

subdomain.yourdomain.com IN A 80.85.90.72
www.subdomain.yourdomain.com IN CNAME dating.lebonline.com
subdomain.yourdomain.com IN MX 10 mds1.singlescrowd.net.
subdomain.yourdomain.com IN MX 11 mds2.singlescrowd.net.
subdomain.yourdomain.com IN MX 90 ms.singlescrowd.net.
subdomain.yourdomain.com IN TXT v=spf1 ip4:80.85.90.67 ip4:80.85.90.70 ip4:80.85.90.71 ip4:80.85.90.74 a mx ~all

This allows you to host your own domain and use a subdomain as your dating site.
Paul (7649)
Thanks Tim,

I've made the changes as you advised and I assume it will take some hours to propagate as the domain dating.hounslowtw3.net currently returns the following URL:

http://www.dating.hounslowtw3.net/index.do

Cheers!

Paul
Paul8368

Is it still not best to host your own if u can ?

MM
Paul (7649)
still not working. I think its almost there. Its trying to find the front page, i.e. index.do but is sticking a "www" in front of the subdomain

http://www.dating.hounslowtw3.net/index.do
Tim
I am not sure that this is the problem - the "www" is a seperate redirection issue we are looking at.

As far as I can tell your site has been put live. If the site is not functioning by morning I will have someone look into this to find out why.
paul (7781)
Lol, hi Paul..

Seen you were on same time as me...

hehe..!!! Why u get a capital "P" and I get a small one.. o)

Hope u get sorted soon..

MM
Paul (7649)
