Advertising any kind of internet buisness is pretty hard and im sure you all agree.

In everyday life a buisness advertised by word of mouth in my case is the most effective way. Word of mouth on the internet is hard as we use keybourd keys to type and chat.
One cheecky but effective way is chat rooms as word of mouth swings back into action.

Telling one person in a chat room is the key. Once you tell that person they will tell a mate or family members and they will prob pass it on too just the same as word of mouth in the street.

I got my first 1000 members by hitting the chat rooms and got many payments from it now and before joining WDP.

here is a quick tag, use it if you want ONLY IN HTML ENABLED CHAT ROOMS

How it will look :-
www.randy2night.com

Please note that this thread has been edited at it seems to me that others do not like the sound of pop ups.... I do not like them my self but was just giving some support. I will carry out providing you HTML links to your site to display on blogs and other sites that accept HTML advertisments as there is many out there.

Hope this helps peeps

Best Regards

Hi all, looks like there has been a mix up on my half.. On Joining WDP i was told that advertising is down to the Site owner and what ever advertising method you thought was best you could do it. I am sorry for displaying this pop up and very sad to hear that chat room webmasters have been crying over this matter.

Im sure you will all agree that the moaners who have complained have a good reason and we must stop doing it BUT i bet you #1000 that the ones who are moaning started there site of by spamming chat rooms hahaha.

Anyway i guess that this softcore action is not allowed and will not help anyone to do this.

I done it along time back but never do it now as im more a link trader lover and would advise anyone to swap links at the proper sites ASAP and get more traffic to there site.

I guess the pop up doesnt go to waist as using this in emails is not really spamming another company, what you think WDPAM, would this be allowed in emails ??

Anyway. Lets not use it in chat and make anyone cry and to stop the work load of complaints hehe

Best regards all
revmoon
Has to agree, that as monitor and OWNER of some chat sites and chat rooms, if I seen that kind of adds being placed I would ban the isp from ever entering again, and if they did go around the ban, I would set about other mean and vicious actions, such as watching your comp going up in smoke...
People run severs, have chat programs, chat sites/roleplaying sites and forum boards for their business and/or pleasures, coming in with that kind of stuff without permission is like walking into a mans auction barn and trying to sell your own horse in the stands, which by the way, would get you hung...

I find no humor at all in this : Anyway. Lets not use it in chat and make anyone cry and to stop the work load of complaints he he

Appearance of someone only interested in making a buck at all cost..

Thank you for sharing this Michael. It is nice to see that you are active on the forum again.

However, such methods are considered SPAM (especially the pop-up one which is very intrusive!), which is not allowed by our Terms of Service.

We already received complaints from chat rooms owners because some of our affiliates were using similar methods to advertise their WDP sites. So it would be nice if you could refrain from using such methods.

Thank you.

Hi all, first off i would like to say sorry to all members and users if they disagree with my add about the pop up... I was only trying to provide and show our young users on what can really be done but what is not allowed in that case lol... I agree with the replies though.

I have edited the first thread and hope it helps and very sorry for the miss understanding.

many Thanks
Thomas

Hi Michael,

Using non-solicited, intrusive pop-ups will always be regarded as a form of spamming, whatever the support (email, IM etc...), especially if the email is not solicited.

In case the email is actually solicited, then there are probably millions of more effective ways to actually close the sale other than using intrusive pop-ups. If the email is solicited, then the prospective customer is already interested in what you have to sell and you just need to give him what he is looking for to close the sale. No need of a pop-up, nobody likes them smile.gif.

Also, I have to agree with Revmoon. I have run a lot of services so far, including forums and chat rooms. And whatever the way they "advertise", spammers are never appreciated and this is understandable.

Partners are responsible for advertising/marketing/promotion of their sites as long as the way they send traffic is legit. Our Terms of Service clearly establish that anybody using spamming techniques will lose his account and current earnings.

Thank you for your understanding Michael, and please let me know if there is anything you need.
