Can anyone tell me what a good conversion rate is. I pulled this from my panel: Conversion Visitors-Free: 5.52% My Sales ? Total: (secret) Success Rate: 56% .

I will be starting a Google Adwords campaign next week so want to have a starting point and understand what this all means.

I had someone else looking after my WDP campaigns and now it is time for me to get behind the reins again.

Not sure what a good rate is but mines about the same if that helps 4.86% and 58%. Would be interested in the secret but not in the forum of course. Do you target specific markets with your adwords? and do you use the content network?

Mines 3.44% and 34% Success Rate so you guys are doing well.

As you are probably beginning to see there is a huge variance in conversions!

It is down to your site, your advert and niche you are targeting. Targeted ads with targeted landing pages or sites will naturally convert the best.

This is achievable in ad words by carefully writing your ad and choosing a suitable landing page or creating a matching niche site.

Adult sites remain the highest converting, and easiest to market using these methods.

I have plans to boost my conversion rate back up! - Been out of the game for a few months now, due to other major things that i had to deal with. Howether, if you get a nice stream of natural traffic, you'll still get regular members to your sites. Conversion rates for me have dropped, simply has ive not been around to keep updating things.

Im going to shovel threw all my paperwork now and then get back to business!

I think they would convert better with paid trials.
I've been using trials on sites for years and you ask any adult webmaster and they will tell you the same.

A basic free membership isn't much of a lure, give people just a taste and 9 times out of 10 they will allow the recurring payment.

#25 for non UK members is alot of cash which is why i think maybe the convertions are not that good.

I stopped using the Content network but have been told that it is different now. I found myself on useless parked pages. I contacted Google and told them that I was not pleased. I am just getting back into using Google adwords again. I saw they are having classes in Toronto near where I live so going to see what that is all about. The problem with Google is that they are changing all the time and it is really hard to find non competitive words. Either they are not popular and you pay a fortune or your content is not right, always something...grr

I think WDP need to re-think a few things as going by the above, the conversions are extremely low despite any claims otherwise.

For a start the members area is awkward to navigate, i can see alot of members hitting the index page from various member pages because they have no idea of where they're going.
