Hi

I have read posts from about a year ago referring to editable internal headers and access to global css files.

I can customize the homepage any way I see fit, which is great if you want to match the branding with your own (if using a sub domain).
As soon as you click away from the homepage, your branding is gone.

I run the search from my homepage and the resulting unbranded page has 590 W3C errors.

Is there another branding solution?

Are the updated mentioned in the forum last January going to be rolled out?

Kind regards

MisterM

Hi MisterM,

I think the term flogging a dead horse comes to mind with regards to having more control over internal pages, unless ofcourse WDP are working on a solution to all the duplicate content, but judging by the lack of responses from WDP to other posts about this issue i wouldn't hold my breath.

I have to agree Robert, I asked about the new members block going horizontal instead of vertical getting on for 18 months ago now. So did other members but I still notice nothing has been done about it, if you have your own front page you have to put it in manually otherwise it cocks up your page and looks a right mess.

I was assured that it was going to sorted out months ago. I say no more. So the prospect of have control over the internal pages are I would say nil.

Ah

I misinterpreted the statement on the features tab of the homepage: http://www.worlddatingpartners.com:

"Full control to edit your homepage text, design and meta-tags using our advanced Business Control Center"

Only the homepage is brandable (if brandable is a real word), while the rest of the site will have to look like a completely different website altogether.

This isn't the solution for us.

Good luck guys.

Well i have to be honest, i'm no better off traffic wise now from SE than when i started, nothing has any effect and i feel i can go no further, i know from studying keyword stats that we should be pulling in alot more with the combined related monthly searches of 5 million plus.

Looking at the traffic ranks of so many other WDP sites, it seems we're all stuck in the same position almost as if the traffic is being shared amongst us.

I don't see the point of saturating google by building more sites that again will not perform any better as organically, we shouldn't have too.

Please WDP, instead of changing your interface to encourage more "partners" why don't you make the changes that will make a difference to the partners i.e. coding the front page so we can show more "new members", adding more templates, tutorials so that people can learn how to change the templates so they have original content. This is how we all benefit. It hurts everyone if new members join and use the same templates over and over.

There are other sites that get more traffic because of their internal pages, but because our pages are all identical they are blocked from the search engines (correct me if I am wrong) which means if we want a lot of google love then we would have to build hundreds of pages that CAN be picked up by the search engines.

One thing that I can say is that other white label companies do not give you the opportunity to build other pages as WDP does. So this is the only way that we can get more searches if we build more internal pages.

I couldn't have put it better myself Pastsy.

I remember when WDP ( Singlescrowd ) had the family touch with their partners now it appears that all they want to do is flood the market with thousands of identical sites.

In my experience though that what happens to all businesses that get bigger and bigger, they loose touch with the work force and loose the personal touch.

I am not sure if it is a case of changing or evolving David. WDP has grown, they have hired a lot more people but there is still work to do. I hope they read the constant requests for changes which will make a difference to us. Oh and my name is Patsy...hehe not Pastsy. Anyways, I do not think it is a case of flooding the market with identical sites. They are giving people the opportunity to get into a business, the templates are offered just to get people going. But ALOT of the people never change anything and wonder why they are not making money. You need to brand yourself, and not use sub domains. Who is going to remember www.thebestdatingsite.intheworld.singlescrowd.com The shorter the sweeter and if you spend money to advertise in your own niche/area you can make money.

I know a company that will build a new page very reasonably, but you have to have the knowledge of SEO, keywords, PPC etc to make it in this business.

I'd be happy if we could change page names, urls and have full html access to all the pages, this would help with being more unique and maybe help us all rank better.

Maybe some new editable macros for creating GEO targeted gallery pages to make up a tour. smile.gif

It's funny reading all your comments and having been a member over a week now, how I am feeling exactly the same and that 8 months down the line since this topic started!

I'm a senior web designer by profession and own my own small business web design company (www.ableaf.com). I know my css and html like the back of my hand and I can tell you the page code that is used on our templates isn't the best (table based layouts) and that affect a lot of things (web browsers, loading times, SEO). I'm sure WDP know how to code using today's standards but as you mention it maybe a fact that they are being so successful and running away with it they are ignoring the basics now, which affects us all.

The admin and it's features are great but how do they exactly work.....?! No real documentation, no text to FULLY describe them with examples and yet it is these forums which people are asking the same question again and again. They get the answer and off they go but along comes another users and asks the same thing. It's really about time they sat people down and said "Right, the business is doing fantastic but lets get back to basics and improve the partners experience as they are key to us being a business".

Don't get me wrong I am really impressed with WDP and that's why I am using them but make yourselves REALLY STAND OUT AGAINST THE CROWD and get the templates, their editing capabilities and the partners experience a real thing to shout about. Maybe then we can all focus on the more juicier parts to getting our websites 100% successful above the rest. wink.gif
