We were talking about paypal a while back and I just wanted to get an idea of how many partners would like to be paid by paypal?

Keep in mind the fees they charge and the fact that they may withhold money in which case we would be able to do very little. Would you still want it?

Let me know.

thanks

Hi Dan,

I'm happy receiving my payments from you by cheque. I'll aim to get to the #1000 threshold and start getting bank transfers.

That's a very good improvement !If you add internet payment feature(Paypal) then we will leave "dark ages" payment method by cheque to today's method:)
Let's open your opportunity to millions Paypal's member and provide a fair situation for every partners worldwide...

I would HATE receiving paypal payments. They are a nightmare to deal with and almost anyone who has received payments through them can testify to this. Dan was right, once they hold your money, there is little you can do to receive it. I used to sell on Ebay and they did what they called a "random account review." They suspended my account so that I was not able to withdraw any of my payments until I verified my identity by sending them copies of my driver's license and utility bills. I did this and then they gave me a whole new list of things to do. They made me send them tracking numbers for several transactions that had occurred immediately prior to their "random account review." Since I sold thousands of items on Ebay at the time, it took me forever to get this done. I finally sent them this information and then they said, well, now we have to wait for all of these buyers to verify that they received their items. All of my transactions were international transactions so I had to wait an additional three weeks for most buyers to verify that they received their items, while some wouldn't even respond to Paypal's inquiries, thus causing further delay. It took three months for me to withdraw the over $10,000 that Paypal held. During that period, I had to completely put my Ebay business on hold since I could not use my Paypal account. I will NEVER, EVER use them again!! EVER! If you like your money being held for no good reason, then by all means, use Paypal. There are several other testimonies from people who have been screwed by Paypal on sites such as www.paypalsucks.com. They have also been sued several times. If you enter Paypal lawsuits into any search engine you can pull all of this information up.

P.S. - They will charge fees on any money you receive through them so keep that in mind.

Paypal as an option would certainly help.

I've just recently (last week) gone through a paypal "limitation" so i know a little about the worse they can throw at you... this is what happened...

Day 1
I receive an email from paypal saying that my account had potentially been hacked - all transactions are put on hold and i cannot send money

Day 2
I open my paypal account to find that i need to re-enter various account details, password changes etc and one seller complains that he hasn't got his money rolleyes.gif

Day 3
After completing all the requirements i now find (through telephone conversation) that i have to send them proof of address, so i scanned a household bill and got frustrated because there file size limit is 1mb - my pic was 1.1mb - i managed to reduce it

Day 4-5
After 3 emails and numerous phone calls they finally review my account and remove account limitation

Day 6-9
After further telephone calls i manage to get the transaction limitations removed and these funds are now released to the sellers

What pi**ed me off was that my password was 15 digits and my account appeared to have no unauthorised access whatsoever. So it seem they where just after more info......why couldn't they just ask for it?

If i was less persistent it probably would have took weeks to resolve

After looking on the internet this sort of stuff seems to happen a lot.... luckily i only use it now and again, but it could trash a small business for peeps who do ebay etc...

So back to the thread question rolleyes.gif

An online payment system i feel is needed because they are very convenient, modern and what peeps use online!

Paypal...... better than nothing

Google checkout.........yes please

It would be nice to have another payment option like paypal or maybe something else like neteller or epassport.

If you can add Paypal or Moneybookers should be GREAT rolleyes.gif and much much more convenient way for your co. and for your affiliates as well. I think you can also triple your affiliates because 99% of companies worldwide use this convenient and reliable and fast payment methods. Cheques are so bad because banks always freeze money at least 1 or 2 monthes! It is nonsense and really bad ways to payout for affiliates who really put their efforts to make money for you. I hope you add Paypal within a very short time. Thanks in advance! rolleyes.gif

It is an interesting story and really understood your nightmare but do not forget that lots of unreliable selling on Ebay and also do not forget that you were waiting for a high amount of money. Of course they want you to give more information.

Paypal, Moneybookers are grreat, fastest way to get money but definately not for extremly high amounts. Paypal and Moneybookers are good for smaller amounts.

For higher amounts the best way to withdraw your money thru banktransfers.

Paypal could be a problem because of their adult site policy. I know not everyone has an adult community, but i would rather keep being paid by check than having troubles with Paypal.

How about ePassporte? I think it's totally the best solution...less commissions, less problems...
danvincent
I cant see that it would be a problem, as you are not taking member payments for adult sites, however any excuse!
nyllover
Well, in a way i am. I have an adult community here, therefore (if they want to find an excuse) those money would come from adult business. Just my 2 cents anyway!
danvincent
Like you said, I think it is a case of any excuse smile.gif

Paypal is an expensive way to receive money in sterling where as a check costs nothing to put into your bank account. It might be nice to have the option for others who don't mind losing money, but not for me! I like trusty checks!
